Basics

• Character limit is twelve. If you're active and would like to take another one, email the mods and ask! No problemo!
• No Godmodding! Standard.
• No drama please. If you have problems, please take it up with the mods first, regardless.
• The OOC comm is for posting CR requests, hiatus posts, and communicating ideas, etc. It's not advisable to post a lot of pertinent character information that's going to be a long-term effect, though you're welcome to put it in your wiki and update in the comm and say that you did for future reference! We just don't want things to get lost in the OOC shuffle on you! :] Also, please don't habitually post there. Some people have the comm friended to their personal journals and if the same person posts with frequency in one day, they may lose track of something! Try to keep it all in one post!
• Make sure if you are under 18, you aren't doing any explicit scenes. Fade to black if you absolutely must have your characters copulating. We'd like to be legal here and not inadvertently tick off LJ, thx.
• The game moves in semi-real time as far as days are concerned, so please don't feel like you have to function on Russian time if you're in America or something. The game started February 1st, 2009 and so that was the first day of the community. We use 2009 dates in-character for simplicity.
• FUN. Do have it! And if you're not, please tell us why!
• As far as plots go, if it's going to be on a large scale and affecting the overall scheme of things -- just contact the mods and run it by us first. Otherwise, feel free to have subplots and things. If noteworthy places are damaged/something is affected, do a post. No biggy! Basically, when in doubt - ask, otherwise, have at it!

Characters

• Only original characters, please.
• You are welcome to make your character replace (or even eventually replace) the celebrity you're using as a PB (such as Jun Teng replacing Vic Zhou), but not another one (i.e., I wanna use Jared Leto, but have him have done the things Brandon Boyd did instead). And by all means, feel free to invent your own celebrity, too. It isn't as though they all died, right?
• If they aren't replacing their respective celebrity/model/singer (which they absolutely do not have to, it's just an available option so you don't have to invent your own claim to fame in the event you want them to be famous), then just treat it as a coincidence that so-and-so resembles so-and-so. Make sure you change their names regardless though, because they are not the real deal - just their careers are the same.
• Everything else is fair game! Be as bizarre or plain with them as you want! Anything goes. If you want them to be high up in the Revival Project, that is also okay. Just throw it in your app, and if we have any questions/concerns, we'll talk about it with you then! If they're highly ranked - we'll be sure to include you in on the things they would know!
• The atmosphere of the game is dark and serious and all that good horror-movie-esque stuff, but that doesn't mean all the characters have to be gloomy. The pulse didn't wipe out happiness itself, after all! So, have fun with their personalities. Make them as silly or dark as you like. They're just people with super powers!
• Yes, you are allowed to kill off your characters (it's inevitable, this is a dark RP). You don't ever have to and you won't be asked to either. It's strictly your own choice.

Powers

• We allow your characters up to four powers. You don't have to give them four, but they must have at least one regardless of how strong it is.
• In these powers, you're allowed to give them sub-abilities pertinent to the overall ability See: Feng Nuo Shi or Jasmine Zha for examples. You don't have to do this either, it's just an option! You're really just breaking down the ability itself rather than giving them MORE abilities.
• If you need help finding powers, this is a good resource. You can tweak them, etc., as you see fit. They don't have to be identical. Be creative! We're not going to be harpies on powers.
• If someone took a power you want? No biggy. You can use it, too. Some people are going to have the same abilities, they're not unique to each individual. Try not to copy verbatim specifics of other peoples' powers without permission. Yes, we notice.
• Keep in mind that this is a survival horror roleplay and while they are not fighting each other (usually), they are fighting zombies. Don't worry about them seeming to overpowered.
• Over time and with excessive use of their abilities, your characters can evolve or even devolve their powers. If you want to do this, comment with the details here first, this way we are aware of what you are doing. Powers would devolve due to lack of use and evolve due to excessive use. When you give them their powers to us in the application, please don't alter them afterward at all barring evolution/devolution.
• Characters that can do Power Bestowal or have the ability to grant powers in other means - that's cool, that's fine. We do it all the time. We just ask that when they do grant someone else a power (and if it's permanent) that you list as much on their wiki. You don't have to comment on the power post.

Played-Bys

• No double played-bys unless they're identical twins or what have you, in which case you work that out yourselves. No harassing the mods to do it, please!
• No cosplayers or e-fame/myspace folks.
• No, you can't use one celebrity twice if they are being played as their celeb persona.
• If you want to change your played by, please email both mods first to let us know! It's no big deal, we just need to know first. Thanks!

Drops

• If you drop a character, email both mods with it and what you want to have happened to the character. Whether you want them to have been killed, gone missing, or NPC'd.
• If a character is dropped due to inactivity, they'll have disappeared by being taken in by the Revival Project and put as missing.
• If you want to pick up a dropped OC, contact the former player and ask them since it was their OC.
• If the OC dropped was a request, then it's up to the originator what happens to them if the player who dropped them doesn't specify it. Also, make sure you consult the originator before dropping them about what you're going to do.
• NPC'd/killed/missing characters' PBs become available for use again. If you want to bring that character back and they're just going missing for a week or two for plot purposes, you can hold the PB for yourself if you're worried they'll get taken up.
• If you want to pick up a character you dropped again and they weren't killed, and maybe even if they were - email us!

Activity

• Activity consists of one post every two weeks, one log every two weeks, or excessive commenting.
• Yes, commenting substantially can count instead of a log or thread.
• We mods reserve the right to drop your characters at any time for inactivity spanning longer than our two week requirement. We will, however, always give advanced notices before officially dropping the characters and moving them to missing.
• Activity checks typically take place at the beginning of the month. We will give you one warning for any inactive characters and a week's grace to get active before dropping characters. They will be deemed missing.
• Tag your posts. I check activity that way.
• If you need to take a hiatus, please inform the mods via email.

Journal Posting

• Logs/threads are posted in the logs community and labeled with warnings if they can be considered over an R. Please also state Who/What/Where/When, too! Feel free to make open threads, but make sure all posts are placed under a cut tag.
• All journal updates will be in the main condemnations community.
• When posting character entries, you may designate filters and languages (that way it makes it easier on everyone to not have to use babelfish for the sake of realism and butchering someone's language). You can start entries with something like [Filter: Public//Language: English&Chinese]. You can use common terms if you want, that's perfectly fine. If you do know the language and wanna show off, too, just insert a translation as a footnote!
• Icons are actual images of your person and can be seen by everyone. There's no fourth wall to break (save for this being an RP, obviously), so mention whoever/whatever you want in fandom. Everything is up and running just as it was before the outbreak. This means if you want to give your characters AIM Names, go for it!
• Profile info, usernames, etc., pretend they aren't there. Screened or something. Some people recycle their journal names, so we're just avoiding confusion!

Wikis

• If you ever need help with doing a page for your person, let us know! We'd be glad to do a page for you.
• If you don't set up your own wiki after two weeks, we will do them for you.
